This is my roommate Bridget. Thursday, March 8th was her 20th birthday. Yay. We had people over the house to celebrate. I had a lot of fun, but no fun working in the morning. Today is Saturday. The house is still dirty and I want to scream. I have done half the cleaning myself but she is like immune to the mess. I can't take it and I don't want to be rude, but I just want to go wake her up and be like "clean the damn house!" It was her party, I've already done a large share of it, but seriously. Ugh.

Lassie Dies

I just read a story about a dog named lassie who woke up her owners, that were in their eighties, and saved them from a fire!! I am such a HUGE dog lover. I feel so bad about the dog, but can you imagine what a sweet heart. They both said they would not have made it out alive if the dog hadn't woken them.

Current issues receiving the most coverage is the Tara Grant Murder as well as Comerica moving 200 establishments to Dallas and away from here.

A lot of the current stories are based off of or told in a personal way. What is going to happen with the Detroit Board of Education, the kid who dedicated his b-ball game to his friend who died, Tara Grant, the bank issue even pulls at your heart a bit because of the talk about Detroit's fight to get better, and this is just taking more jobs away. Everyday it's something new about the Tara Grant story, yes it's important, and I am by no means devaluing her murder, but it's getting just redundant and almost disrespectful, she has a family who I'm sure wants justice but not a made for tv movie lifetime special. Respect their personal business, there is no new evidence that pertains to our lives.

I think the current stories are playing a large part in humanization. It's dramatized as well (tara Grant) because of how much they keep posting about it. Facts are present in the cases.

I liked the story about the board of education meeting tonight. I don't understand how they can't wait until June, they are goign to pay out this man, if the woman is ellected, but they are cutting back on funding to the schools? That should be the biggest concern, they are closing schools left and right and will be closing 50 schools by 2010! Also, the Comerica thing, they can't get people to come work there, which I understand, a businesses ultimate goal is to succeed but it just seems like Detroit has great potential but no one will help acheive it, and others are helping to diminish it! Detroit is home to some of my best memories, I hate all the bad news about it. The best story I found was the organ donation/transplant issue being debated. They are trying to pass something that if you want to be eligable for a donor transplant, you have to be willing to donate your own organs at teh time of death. I totally agree with that. I don't think it's immoral at all, in fact I would argue that is more moral. Morals are supposd to help humanity as a whole survive and survive in a better way. Plus, what's the point of not donating? YOu're helping other people. I understand some religions may go against it, but regardless. I was sad to see the story about the young girl who was shot by her boyfriend who then killed himself. It's terrible how young teens are so emotional and act on passion, without being able to control themselves. Thankfully she wasn't killed. Can you imagine that boy's mother?

Right now I do not have any idea on what I want to research yet.

Yay Hana

My senior year I had a falling out with a lot of the girls in my grade, and I changed social groups. I still had a lot of guy friends, and I had a couple good girlfriends, but one was away at college and the other lives kinda far away. I started becoming really good friends with the arabic girls in my PPI class (Positive Peer Intervention). These girls, especially Hana, became so close to me. We developed really good relationships with each other and we always had sooooo much fun. These are some of the best, smartest, funnest, funniest, and strongest women I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. After school ended, it became more difficult to meet on a regular basis, being that we went to different colleges, I moved in with my bf, work conflicts. I miss them all of the time and the other day after class I was walking out of the bathroom and low and behold, its Hana!!!! I was so excited to see her and we have made plans to get together and I can't wait.

Myspace

If you don't have a myspace, I'm sure you are working on one, if you aren't, I'm sure you've at least heard of it. I never thought I would get one, I always thought it was too highschool for me, but it's actually a really neat convenient way to catch up with people you haven't talked to, basically e-mail with music and pictures. For a hot minute my account was blocked, but I finally got my myspace to work. My account was "phished", I couldn't comment or message or anything, but now I can, finally. I guess someone had stolen my myspace identity. Man that's funny.

You can now reach me via myspace too.
Get to know more of what I'm really about.

Dominant News

Still I think the most predominantly covered news is the gruesome murder of wife and mother, Tara Grant. This story is everywhere, pictures, a confession, 'the last moments of her life', what happened. I think this is covered so well because it hits so close to home. I read about this, because you can't help but be drawn to a title that speaks about what this woman faced before she died and how she died. I also checked out the Tigers. Opening day is in four weeks and I can't wait. Some of the best memories I have are at Comerica; the game, the sun, the rain, the comotion, the intensity, the snacks, the friends, the beer...I can't wait! I can't wait! I can't wait!

King of the castle king of the castle

Borat comes out Tuesday on DVD with 30 minutes of bonus film!! I saw that movie twice in theaters. Sacha Baren Cohen has to be one of the funniest guys. I just love his show Ali G. He has three characters; Ali G this white gangsta who interviews all of these political leaders among other people, Bruno this gay fashionista who I think is from Russia, and Borat Sagdiyev a reporter from Kazakhstan. His show is so awesome because he doesn't have a script, everything he says is completely improv. I highly recomend buying all seasons. Also Reno 911 Miami is out and I really want to see it.
