Current issues receiving the most coverage is the Tara Grant Murder as well as Comerica moving 200 establishments to Dallas and away from here.

A lot of the current stories are based off of or told in a personal way. What is going to happen with the Detroit Board of Education, the kid who dedicated his b-ball game to his friend who died, Tara Grant, the bank issue even pulls at your heart a bit because of the talk about Detroit's fight to get better, and this is just taking more jobs away. Everyday it's something new about the Tara Grant story, yes it's important, and I am by no means devaluing her murder, but it's getting just redundant and almost disrespectful, she has a family who I'm sure wants justice but not a made for tv movie lifetime special. Respect their personal business, there is no new evidence that pertains to our lives.

I think the current stories are playing a large part in humanization. It's dramatized as well (tara Grant) because of how much they keep posting about it. Facts are present in the cases.

I liked the story about the board of education meeting tonight. I don't understand how they can't wait until June, they are goign to pay out this man, if the woman is ellected, but they are cutting back on funding to the schools? That should be the biggest concern, they are closing schools left and right and will be closing 50 schools by 2010! Also, the Comerica thing, they can't get people to come work there, which I understand, a businesses ultimate goal is to succeed but it just seems like Detroit has great potential but no one will help acheive it, and others are helping to diminish it! Detroit is home to some of my best memories, I hate all the bad news about it. The best story I found was the organ donation/transplant issue being debated. They are trying to pass something that if you want to be eligable for a donor transplant, you have to be willing to donate your own organs at teh time of death. I totally agree with that. I don't think it's immoral at all, in fact I would argue that is more moral. Morals are supposd to help humanity as a whole survive and survive in a better way. Plus, what's the point of not donating? YOu're helping other people. I understand some religions may go against it, but regardless. I was sad to see the story about the young girl who was shot by her boyfriend who then killed himself. It's terrible how young teens are so emotional and act on passion, without being able to control themselves. Thankfully she wasn't killed. Can you imagine that boy's mother?

Right now I do not have any idea on what I want to research yet.

Overhearing your lack of comments obligates me to post!

But yeah, the Tara Grant murder case has become way too redundant. One thing that irritated me is that all other news around the world just seems to stop and pale in comparison to the murder. I think it was last Saturday when Stephen Grant escaped or w/e, I turned on the news and the entire news broadcast talked about it and nothing else. 5 minutes total to sports, weather, and other miscellaneous. I got the facts the first time around, and I don't care if you found extreme breaking news first (local 4 bastards).
